MARHABA Project

MARHABA Project provides an opportunity for students of 5 Iranian universities including Amir Kabir University of Technology, Sharif University of Technology, University of Tehran, Iran University of Medical Sciences and Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) to study in European partner universities, with the objective of developing further academic collaboration among EU and Iranian Universities.

 

 

GOALS OF THE PROGRAMME:

  • To promote and to foster mutual enrichment between the Partners through the exchange of people, knowledge and culture and to enhance the personal skills and employability of participating individuals;
  • To develop higher education teaching and learning capacities of partner universities in areas of policy and practice closely linked to their development priorities;
  • To provide students from vulnerable groups with further education and professional development and empowerment for leadership;
  • To promote cooperation between sending and hosting institutions, thus mutually enriching the educational environment of both;
  • To share responsibility and accountability in partnership and facilitating transfer of know-how and good practices;
  • To develop sustainable relationships beyond the end of the project;

Mobility Programme

Beneficiaries

Candidates belonging to one of the following target groups can be selected for an ERASMUS MUNDUS MARHABA grant:

Target Group 1 (TG1) : Students and Academic Staff registered in one of the partner universities belonging to the consortium. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their home institution.

Target Group 2 (TG2): TG2 mobilities will be from Europe to Iran and Iraq, and from Iran, Iraq and Yemen to Europe. Applicants need either to be registered in or to have obtained a university degree or equivalent from a HEI of any European or Third country (not included in the partnership).

Target Group 3 (TG3): Nationals of one of the Third Countries targeted by the project (Iran, Iraq and Yemen) who are in a particularly vulnerable situation due social or political reasons as specified by the EMA21 Call. 

In order to be eligible, TG1 and TG2 third country students must have not resided nor carried out their main activity (study, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of the European countries. This rule is not applicable for staff mobility.

 

Amount of the grant

MARHABA includes travel and insurance costs and a monthly allowance of:

  • 1.000€ for Undergraduate and Master

  • 1.500€ for Doctorate

  • 1.800€ for Post-doctorate

  • 2.500€ for Academic Staff

 

Duration of the mobilities

  • Undergraduate: 6 and 10 months

  • Master: 6 and 18 months

  • Doctorate: 6 – 34 months

  • Post doctorate: 6 months

  • Academic Staff: 1 month

 

Academic Recognition

Participating in MARHABA ensures the mutual recognition of all credits performed in partner institutions within the consortium.
